Senior Civil Servant and Deputy Director of the Policy Unit, 10 Downing Street

Helen is a senior civil servant and Deputy Director of the Policy Unit in 10 Downing Street. She is on the Women of the Future judging panel in a private capacity. Her background is in women’s policy where she was previously the Number 10 Senior Adviser on Women, Equality and Civil Society, she also served as Principal Private Secretary to three Ministers for Women and Equality in Whitehall. Earlier in her career she worked in communications in a number of Government departments including in Downing Street; for the Deputy Prime Minister during the coalition government; in the Home Office; and the Department of Health and Social Care. She grew up in the North East of England and now lives in London with her partner and two children.
