Javier Echave
Chief Operating Officer, Heathrow Airport
Javier joined Heathrow in 2008 and has served as Chief Operating Officer since 2024. He is accountable for delivering Heathrow’s end-to-end operation at unprecedented record levels of traffic, including airfield and airspace, engineering and baggage, security and intelligence, terminal services, business resilience and operational planning.
Outside Heathrow, Javier is member of the Board of Trustees of Accounting for Sustainability (‘A4S’), a charity under the patronage of HRH King Charles III, with the aim to transform finance to make sustainable business, business as usual. He is an executive mentor and teaches on strategy, change management and human leadership at the CFO programme of London Business School (UK) and at the MBA programme of UNIR Business School (Spain). He is also a faculty member of the Future Leaders Group (UK).
