GINGGAY HONTIVEROS – MALVAR is a multi-disciplined, results-oriented and multi-awarded
leader with extensive experience in the corporate and development sectors, and has been
instrumental in building sustainable agricultural development and peace programs in conflict
areas of the Philippines.

extensive businesses and leadership positions in the power, banking, food, land and infrastructure

In the corporate world, Ginggay is currently Vice President for Reputation Management &
Sustainability at Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc., a holding company of the Aboitiz Group that has
extensive businesses and leadership positions in the power, banking, food, land and infrastructure
sectors inthe Philippines and across the South East Asia, and has disclosed its commitments to
the UN Sustainable Development Goals as part of the group’s contributions to the global
sustainability goals.
In the development sector, since 2016, she leads the Negosyo for Peace (Business for Peace)
Programs, Agripreneurship Mentorship and Inclusive Agri-Business programs for the office of the
Presidential Adviser for Entrepreneurship Joey Concepcion. She holds the official designation as
GoNegosyo’s Senior Adviser for Agripreneurship, and Programs Head for Bangsamoro Region
for peace and development. She has also been appointed as Project Ark’s Leader for LGU
partnerships also under OPAE.
To support and help transform marginalized communities vunerable to extremism and violence,
Ginggay leads the ongoing interventions for peace and sustainable impact thru humanitarian &
livelihood projects in partnership with local stakeholders from both public and private sectors.
These programs are focused on nurturing trust and mutual respect with, engagement of and
sustainable development for Muslim communities in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region of
Muslim Mindanao Philippines (BARMM. By working directly with stakeholders from all sides,
including the armed contingents of the MNLF and MILF, Ginggay has slowly succeeded in
shepherding peace initiatives in the Muslim provinces of Sulu, Lanao del Sur and Maguindanao,
and some of the Muslim municipalities in Lanao del Norte.
While acknowledging that the social injustices and violence of the past will always be a part of
history, Ginggay and her team have been persistently engaging with communities and their
leaders to slowly heal by supporting their aspirations for a better future, and by building new
paths for productive lives and inclusive growth. The milestones achieved are testament to the
reality that Christians and Muslims, from all sectors, can work together for peace. It is only by
supporting each other that peace truly succeeds.
To date, the Negosyo for Peace programs have directly impacted more than 4,500 lives in
communities across the provinces in the Bangsamoro, whilst serving as inspiration for countless
more who are now moving to improve their own ecosystem in the countryside.
Ginggay leads Kapatid Agri Mentor Me (KAMMP), a mentorship program in partnership with the
Department of Agriculture and Department of Agrarian Reform, extending support to more than
1,400 cooperatives with about 140,000 farmers and fishermen members nationwide. As head for
KAMMP, she focuses on helping farmers and fishermen scale up their agribusinesses in rural
areas, and has been instrumental in leading a growing movement for caring for, guiding and
mentoring smallholder farmers toward a more progressive life. KAMMP was successfully pivoted
as an Online Program following the impact of the covid pandemic in 2020 with travel restrictions
and safety protocols firmly implemented.
Additionally, Ginggay was also Program Chair for the ASEAN Agricultural Summits for 2017 and
2018, where she led a team to mount the very first integrative and collaborative events to bring
together stakeholders in the agri ecosystem across the ASEAN region, and with dialogue partners.
These Agri Summits will continue to be part of the official calendar of the ASEAN Business
Advisory Councils.
She was also involved in leading rehabilitation and recovery programs thru economic
development, within a post-Typhoon-Yolanda growth framework for Eastern Visayas, focused on
development of MSMEs and an industrial roadmap for the region.
As part of the GoNegosyo organization, Ginggay remains to be a woman of influence and is
instrumental in guiding and building a family of Mentors, both women and men, under
GoNegosyo who in turn give back by lending their expertise to microentrepreneurs and
agricultural cooperatives.
Ginggay’s commitment to nation building has at its heart the power of Peace, Compassion,
Kindness. With her programs founded on Stakeholder Engagement and Mentorship to help
empower communities for Good and develop strong vibrant change leaders across the
Philippines. Ginggay embodies this in her very core.
As a human being with a nurturing way about her, she continues to Mentor all those who work
with her, who benefit from her guidance and mentorship, who listen to her and learn from the
depth of her experiences and wisdom. She is particularly involved in mentoring women and is
vocal about the role and contribution that women have in nation building, community
development and economic prosperity.
From the boardrooms of corporate life to the battlefields of areas like Marawi and Sulu, Ginggay
continues to make a positive impact on the lives of others. Her work is a shining example of
devotion to others and service above self.
Ginggay has recently been recognized for her work in sustainability by CSRWorks International
as one of the awardees for the Asia Sustainability Superwomen 2020.
She is also the recipient of the Women of The Future UK-Southeast Asia Mentor of the Year
award in 2018, People Asia’s Women of Style and Substance Awardee 2018, and received
recognition as one of the Most Influentual Filipinas in the World 2019 by the Global Filipina
