Trustee and co–Founder of James’ Place
Clare Milford Haven is a Trustee and co–Founder of James’ Place, set up in memory of her eldest son James, who died, aged 21, in December 2006. James’ Place, Liverpool was opened by HRH The Duke of Cambridge in June 2018. It is the first centre of its kind in the UK, offering help and support to men who are experiencing a suicidal crisis, in an environment that has been designed to feel masculine, warm and welcoming. A second centre will be opening in the City of London at the beginning of 2022.
Clare lives on a farm in Hampshire with her husband George and their four children. Previously a freelance writer, including a hectic eight year stint as Social Editor of Tatler, Clare has recently written her first children’s book. She is also a global Brand Ambassador for Jaeger-LeCoultre watches. Clare is a keen and competitive polo player and has represented England internationally three times – in Mexico, Chile and Austria. Her polo team is currently sponsored by Gallagher Global Insurance.
