Cathy Ellott

Ms Cathy Ellott, Head of Streatham & Clapham High School, is a passionate advocate for all girls’ education and the confidence, ambition, and friendship it inspires. As a leader, safeguarding expert, and teacher of English and Drama, she has worked at seven leading independent schools. Her educational vision is a commitment to academic stretch and challenge, co-curricular breadth, and the very highest standards of safeguarding and pastoral care.

Having studied English at Oxford, she encourages every girl to be ambitious, yet as both a parent and a teacher she knows that every child has her own story. She believes that it is the quality of the relationships throughout the school community and beyond that really matters, so that every girl can grow to be the very best version of herself. She loves being part of SCHS where the girls and staff enjoy school with a cheerful energy, and where kindness matters and friendships flourish.
